This Privacy Policy explains how Collabee collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data. We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Please read this policy carefully before using our platform.
1. Who We Are
Collabee ("we", "us", "our") is a UK-based marketplace platform connecting UGC creators, models, and photographers with brands. We are the data controller for personal data collected through our platform at www.collabee.co.uk.

2. Data We Collect
We collect personal data in the following categories:
2.1 Account & Profile Data
- Name, email address, and password (hashed — we never store your password in plain text)
- Profile information: display name, bio, location, social media handles
- Appearance details provided voluntarily by creators (height, eye colour, hair colour, etc.) for the purposes of brand discovery
- Profile photos and portfolio images or videos you upload
- Your chosen account type (Creator or Brand) and pricing/package information
2.2 Usage & Technical Data
- IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages visited, time on site, and referral source
- Search queries and filters used on the platform
- Log data and error reports
2.3 Communications Data
- Messages sent between Creators and Brands on the platform
- Enquiries submitted via our contact form
- Email correspondence with our team
2.4 Financial Data
- Payment information is processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your card details — Stripe processes and stores these in accordance with PCI DSS standards.
- We retain records of transaction amounts, dates, and parties for accounting and dispute purposes.
3. How We Use Your Data
We process your personal data for the following purposes and on the following legal bases:

4. Creator Profile Visibility
When you create a Creator profile on Collabee, certain information you provide is visible to Brands on the platform. This includes:
- Display name, profile photo, bio, location (city/region level), and content type
- Appearance details you voluntarily choose to share (e.g. height, hair colour)
- Portfolio content (photos and videos) you upload
- Your pricing and package information
Your email address and any contact details are never displayed publicly. Brands contact you through the Collabee messaging system.
You can update or remove information from your profile at any time from your account settings.
5. Sharing Your Data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:
- Stripe — our payment processor, for handling bookings and payouts. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — who host our platform and databases. All providers are bound by data processing agreements.
- Analytics providers — to help us understand how the platform is used (data is aggregated or pseudonymised where possible).
- Law enforcement or regulators — where we are legally required to do so.
- Other platform users — only the profile information described in Section 4 above.
6. Data Retention
- Active accounts — we retain your data for as long as your account is active.
- Deleted accounts — upon account deletion, your profile is removed from public view immediately. We retain transaction records and correspondence for 7 years for legal and accounting purposes.
- Marketing data — if you unsubscribe, we remove you from our mailing list within 10 business days and retain only a suppression record to honour your preference.
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to erasure — ask us to delete your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations)
- Right to restrict processing — ask us to limit how we use your data
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing
- Rights related to automated decision-making — we do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

9. Security
We take data security seriously. Measures we have in place include:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Passwords stored using industry-standard hashing (never in plain text)
- Role-based access controls — our team members access only the data necessary for their role
- Regular security reviews of our platform and infrastructure
No system is entirely risk-free. In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the ICO as required by law within 72 hours.
10. Children's Privacy
Collabee is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a person under 18, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
11. International Transfers
We store and process your data within the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA). Where data is transferred outside these regions (for example, to certain infrastructure providers), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the ICO.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
Continued use of Collabee after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
